Meeting 3/23 Town Board Meeting and beyond

Troop 286,
 
March 23: we are meeting at the Kenmore Municipal Building at 2919 Delaware Ave, Kenmore, NY 14217. We are meeting at 6:45pm in the lobby before we enter the town board meeting. Please wear your full Class A uniform shirt tucked. No crocs, No jogging pants please. We will be leading the Pledge! Attending this board meeting is one of the Communications Merit Badge requirements.
 
Wednesday, March 25: out meeting at the Aquatic Center. This will help fulfill many scouts swimming rank requirements. $7/person. We will have trained lifeguards helping any scout who is learning to swim and working on the BSA swim test. Swim for fun!
March 30: Recharter Dinner at 6:30pm – the whole family is invited to attend. Please bring a dish or dessert to share. A head count by March 25th is appreciated. The Troop is providing roast beef, rolls and horseradish.
April 4: Scouting for Food the Pack & Troop together are teaming up to collect food for a local food panty. Lisa Abramo has put together a sign up genius for food collection shifts at Tops on Young Street:
April 9-12: Big City Trip! Mr. Dahkle is leading this trip. $300 can be made payable to Troop 286.
April 18: is Earth Day Clean Up for Tonawanda. The Pack & Troop meeting Lincoln Arena at 9am. Please use the google form that Lisa Abramo put together to get a head count of who can attend.  This clean up goes for a couple hours.
May 1-3: Allegany Family Campout (Pack & Troop) please RSVP to the Google form. Lisa and Dan are leading this event.

Scouts: bring a container for taking home seeds and soil (shoe box size).
7pm-7:15pm: gathering activity downstairs led by Alex
 
7:15pm-7:30pm: Set up Flags for the Opening, tables & chairs, announcements. Luke J is leading opening/closing with Alex as a part of a communications merit badge requirement.
8:20pm-8:30pm: Closing Flags & Announcements.

We are collecting money for a memorial in honor of Marc Varisco. Money/checks can be given to Kelly Mayback.

Saturday, March 14th: Service Time Opportunity!  The Pack is looking for help setting up for the Pinewood Derby at 1:30pm. They will also need help in the kitchen with snacks. Please send your email response to Lisa Abramo if your Scout can help! mrslisa68@yahoo.com

7:30pm- 8:20pm: we are going to run through the Klondike first aid scenario and pull gear for the No Sledding Campout. There are a number of scoutmasters conferences/Board of Reviews due as well.

February 20-22, 2026 at Camp Gorton we only have one scout signed up so far, so please sign up asap for the “No Sledding Campout”. It’s 2.5 hours away so we will make a carpool plan together. Popcorn Sellers Electronics Campout March 20-22 at Don Miller

This is a google form for those Scouts who sold popcorn. Popcorn sellers are invited to the Electronics Campout March 20-22 at Don Miller Park 1601 Sweeney Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 (small cabin).  Bring your gaming systems, TVs, extension cords, charging cords, etc. Mrs. Mayback is cooking for the weekend! 7:30pm- 8:20pm: everyone will practice Klondike skills & meal plan, even if you are not attending the campout January 16‐18. (Communications merit badge will continue January 26.)
8:20pm-8:30pm: Closing Flags & Announcements.

7:30pm- 8:20pm: Communications Merit badge speeches with Mr. Dahlke in our meeting space. The following scouts in this merit badge: Timmy, Sean, Kenneth, Henry, Zach, Jase, Gavin, Phoenix, Evan, Andrew, Jackson, Oliver, Sabastian, Luke P and Luke J. 
 
8:20pm-8:30pm: Closing Flags & Announcements. Mr. Leggett will talk about the January campout.

Out Meeting Dec 29th is cancelled due to weather & January Campout Update

Troop 286,
Tomorrow Night Monday, December 29th we are having an out meeting 6:30pm-8pm at the Paddock Golf Dome, 175 Brompton Rd, Tonawanda, NY 14150.  $6 for mini golf, $10 bucket of balls for driving range.  Please let me know if you are coming if you haven’t already responded.  Family is welcome to join us. Any Class B Scouting shirt is encouraged.
