Meeting Plans 9/14 – First meeting

Troop 286,

7pm-7:15pm: gathering activity in the downstairs room – getting to know you (be prepared to state your name, age, school, scout rank and one fun thing you did this summer)

7:15pm-7:30pm: Set up flags for the opening

7:30pm-8:15pm:
1.) Read through and sign the Code of Conduct Policy.
2.) Vote for a new Senior Patrol Leader. Any scout that is at least First Class can run for Senior Patrol Leader. Please be prepared with a statement about why you are a good candidate for SPL.
3.) Leadership position assignments. Please remember that scouts that want to advance need leadership positions.

8:20pm-8:30pm: Closing Flags & Announcements.

Payments: outstanding payments for the June Claimjumper Campout, Summer Camp tshirts, ADK canoe trip.

What’s next?

September 18-20: Our first campout of the new scout year is September, 18-20. We will be at Sycamore Reservation. 10676 Hammond Hill Rd, East Otto, NY 14729. It is $15 per person. It is tent camping. Please have dinner before or bring it on Friday. Drop off is 6pm later on Friday. Pick up is at 9am on Sunday morning. If you need gear for this trip let me know. Let us know if you can join us. We are collecting $15 on Monday.

7pm-7:15pm: gathering activity  is a Claimjumper Activity
7:15pm-7:30pm: Set up Flags for the Opening, chairs, announcements. Sebastian will lead opening/closing with Alex as a part of a communications merit badge requirement.
7:30pm-8:15pm: Claimjumper preparations, pull gear.
8:20pm-8:30pm: Closing Flags & Announcements.

What’s next?
June 19-21: Claimjumper Campout! Don Miller. $30 is due now.
June 22: Cameron George’s Eagle Court of Honor is at 7:30pm in the Dining Room. This is in lieu of a meeting. Full uniforms should be worn. Parents & Siblings are welcome to join us.
June 29: planning meeting. Bring you ideas for next Scout Year Calendar! Ideas for: weekend camping, outmeetings, Big City Trip, Summer Camp locations,  Volunteer Opportunities. Wear Class B Shirt.
Summer Camp: July 12-17 at Camp Gorton. Get updated Med Forms. Tshirt $20 is due. Please see Mr. Dahlke’s prerequisites that are due before summer camp.
ADK Canoe Trip: August 6-9. A deposit of $130 is due June 22. This is the appropriate cost of the trip.

7:30pm-8:15pm: Mrs. Mayback is teaching Citizenship in the Community to: Alex, Kenneth, Andrew, Jase, Timmy, Sean, Evan, Oliver, Sebastian, Henry, Daniel, Luke J, Luke P, Gavin, Jackson, Zach. (Some of these scouts have partials for Citizenship in the Community). Other scouts who already have this merit badge can work on other partial merit badges or pre reqs for summer camp. Homework for June 8, please watch one of these films: Follow Me Boys (1966), 42 (2013), Lincoln (2012), Pay it Forward (2000), Zootopia (2016), Holes (2003), He Named me Malala (2015), Remember the Titans (2000), Dunkirk (2017), The Blindside (2009), Cars (2006), Facing the Giants (2006), Mr. Hollands Opus (1995), Hidden Figures (2016), The Boy Who Harnesses the Wind (2019), Dark Waters (2019), The Kite Rynner (2007). Watch the movie and write a short paragraph about what you learned from the movie about what it means to be a valuable and concerned member of the Community. You will read it aloud to the group June 8th. Then, Claimjumper preparations

What’s next?
June 8: after our regular meeting at 8:30pm we will be holding a short meeting about the Adirondack Canoe Trip in August. If you are interested in going on the trip for the first time, please stay for this meeting. 14 years of age and older is required for this trip.

Meeting Plans May 18 at 6pm

Troop 286,
**Summer Camp money is due now. Scouts are $620. Scout must be paid to register for merit badges. Adults are $220. Checks can be made payable to Troop 286. Let us know if you’re paying with your Scout account** $20 for a camp shirt are available for pre order. Shirt sizes are Youth Large and up. June orders and $ are due no later than June 1 meeting. Let me know if want to use your Scout account.
 
We are having this week’s meeting 6pm-7pm before Sabres game 7 begins.

6pm-6:15pm: gathering activity is capture the flag outside led by SPL & ASPLs
 
6:15pm-6:25pm: OUTSIDE opening/closing flags are led by Sebastian with Alex as a part of a communications merit badge requirement.

Monday 4/20
