First Scout Meeting of the 2012 – 2013 Season

Don’t forget, the first Troop 286 meeting of the 2012 – 2013 is Monday, September 10th at the Brighton Community Church at 7:00 PM. Remember to bring your popcorn fundraiser sheets to the meeting on Monday and check in with the Popcorn Kernal.  You may already qualify for awards.

Also, if you have filled your sheet, be sure to send it off to council.
Currently, the agenda for the meeting is as follows:
  1. Election of Senior Patrol Leader and Asst. SPLs
  2. Election of Patrol Leaders
  3. Selection of other Troop-level positions for 1st Class scouts and above
  4. Selection of Asst. Patrol Leaders
  5. Review of this year’s calendar, which you can find at the bottom of the page under “Useful Links”

Note: Scouts running for SPL and ASPL must be White Buffalo trained an come prepared to speak about why they should hold this position.

Scouts that want to hold a troop position such as Historian, Scribe, Quartermaster, Librarian, Webmaster, Bugler, Instructor, etc… who cannot attend the meeting should let me know which position they are interested in by emailing the Scout Master, Mark Oetinger, at markoetinger@verizon.net

Klondike Claim Jumper

The CLAIMJUMPER is a giant game of capture the flag that incorporates many scout skills.  Scout patrols earn gold by displaying scout skills in setting up their claim, and of course by capturing other patrols flags.

 

We are trying to recruit more patrols for the 2012 Claim Jumper, the dates for the next claim jumper are below:

 

DATE: June 15-17, 2012

LOCATION: Nine Mile Island Youth Camp, Amherst, NY

COST: $20 per person, includes a t-shirt, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner, and snacks
